    A one day conference and evening public meeting has been organised for those interested in the impact of trade on health in the Pacific with a particular emphasis PACER-Plus, a proposed trade agreement being negotiated between Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific island countries

    Are you concerned about…

    • Tobacco, alcohol and poor quality food being promoted in Pacific island countries

    • Doctors and nurses being poached from Pacific countries to work in Australia

    • People in Pacific island countries having to pay high prices for safe drinking water

    • Pacific countries having one health system for the rich and another for the poor

    • Medicines being inaccessible for poor people in Pacific countries?

    PACER-Plus is a new trade agreement being negotiated between Australia, New Zealand and Pacific island countries, which has the potential to put ‘wealth before health’.

    Come to this seminar to learn more about PACER-Plus and what you can do to make sure Australian trade policy does not undermine sustainable development and the right to health in the Pacific.

    One Day Forum: 9am-5pm (For researchers and advocates) Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided.

    Evening Session: 6pm -7pm (For anyone interested in learning more about the issue) Canapes and refreshments served at 5:15pm.
