On August 31-September 3, Asia Pacific Research Network (APRN) conducted Asia Pacific People’s Conference on Development Justice. The conference aimed:

1. To promote knowledge exchange among CSOs on the different aspects of Development Justice as a framework for a transformative development agenda.

2. To promote critical analyses on the global process shaping the post-2015 development agenda.

3. To promote collective strategizing among CSOs towards linking local demands for development justice to the global conversation shaping the post 2015 development agenda.

4. To develop research initiatives to pursue future directions in sustainable development advocacy and implementation initiatives.

Workshops tackled the issues surrounding the 5 foundational shifts of development justice and came up with elements of a roadmap to amplify our calls for Development Justice towards September 2015 and beyond.

AID/WATCH’s Thulsi Narayanasamy was a panelist for the session on Redistributive Justice. The presentation looked at the role of Australian aid in shaping inequality in the Melanesia region focussing on land reform programs and the PACER-Plus free trade agreement.
